I am EveryWear 30 Day Challenge

I am so excited to tell you that I was one of 50 mama's chosen to participate in the I am EveryWear 30 Day Challenge.

When I was pregnant with Jayden I really wanted to do it all.  I wanted to breastfeed, cloth diaper, baby wear, make my own baby food, and all that great stuff.  I had a good start and have been able to do most of it, but one thing that I never really got the hang of was baby wearing.  I really regret not working harder at it.  My mom was wonderful and made me a couple different slings to try.  They were very cute, but for some reason I never felt comfortable.  I did get a small carrier that I used a couple of times to take Jayden for walks, but I soon gave it up.  I have told myself that when baby #2 (whenever he or she comes) arrives I will definitely baby wear.

I have looked at many carriers and so many look great.  The LILLEBABY carrier was offered in a giveaway and I really wanted to win, but I did not.  Then recently I saw a blog post about signing up to participate in this challenge and decided it can't hurt to try.  Then I received the email saying that I was chosen and I should expect my new carrier soon!!  I was so excited.

You can see from the pictures that the carrier has lots of great features, such as Adjustable seat for ergonomic fit at any age, UV protective Bamboo Hood, neck support, and I love the extra safety strap for smaller babies (see photo).  This carrier can be used in 5 positions, cradle, face in, face out, hip, and back.  I love that the carrier can be used from 7lbs to 42lbs.  Jayden was over 9 at birth so I could use the immediately after birth.  I received a red carrier and it would not be my first choice of color, but it has definitely grown on me.

So the actual challenge was to wear your baby and blog about your experience with the carrier.  So I decided last weekend to get started.  Jayden was up from his morning nap and my husband was asleep so I thought we could go for a short walk.  Well my inexperience with a carrier caused issues.  As I tried to get Jayden into the carrier on my back and ready to go he became agitated with me and wanted down.  I can't say I blame him as I pulled his leg through and wiggling him around to get it right.  He just wanted to go.  So we gave up and went outside without it.

So I waited a couple of days and tried it again.  This time my husband was available to help and take pictures.  But since this post is getting long I will write about our first outing in a separate post.  But while your here I would love to hear about your beginning experiences with carriers, slings, or any baby wearing items.  Was it easy or uncomfortable at first?  Did you continue or give up?  What advice do you have for a new baby wearing mama?

Disclaimer:  I was provided a Lillebaby Everywear carrier free of charge to participate in the challenge and give my opinion.  I was not compensated in any way to write this post.  All opinions expressed are my own.

  1. Cant wait to see pics and hear more! Congrats on being chosen! How fun!

  2. congrats on being chosen.

i don't have a brand-name wrap (although a handmedown structured carrier). I just have 6 ft of rayon that I tie like a moby. I've realized that I need a thicker fabric, a knit of some sort, because the rayon tends to bunch up then dig into my shoulders. ouch. otherwise, i love it.

  3. Good luck with the baby wearing! I hope to get a good wrap or sling with my next baby so we can give it a try. Can't wait to read your next post! :)

  4. You have an award on my blog! Hope you are having a blessed weekend.
