I Am EveryWear 30 Day Challenge: First Outing

So I told you about the Lillebaby carrier I received and the challenge that I am entered into.  Well, our first attempt to use the carrier went bad.  So last Wednesday I came home from work and decided to try again.  So this time I prepared the carrier and daddy was there to help.  It was easier getting Jayden in this time.  Then we went outside and daddy took a few pictures of us ready to go.
Then Jayden and I went for a walk to the golf course.  We have a golf course in our neighborhood and they have ducks.  Jayden loves to feed the ducks.  Usually he goes in the stroller and we take the dog.  This time I carried Jayden and sorry "Bubba", but the dog stayed home.
As we walked down the street I swear there were WAY more cars then usual driving by.  They all seemed to be staring.  I was not sure if they were looking at my cool new carrier or my cool little toddler in his hat and sunglasses.  Either way they were all lookin'.
We get down around the street to the lake at the golf course and see the ducks.  The ducks always come running when they see us.  I buy duck food at the feed store so we always have food for them. ( I read that bread is bad for them and its expensive too.)  Jayden was happy to throw food to the ducks and see all of them.  There are baby ducks too.  There were 12, but this time we only saw 9!  I don't know where the other 3 were.
It was not easy to take a picture of Jayden and I with the carrier and the ducks.  Next time daddy needs to go and be our photographer.
On our way back home we saw a very pregnant woman across the street and she was looking very hard at the carrier.
I noticed something while walking back home.  Jayden was so talkative and had lots to point out like the, "big truck" "airplane" "bird" "car" and more.  I heard so much more from him talking to me then when he is in the stroller and further away.  Sometimes he says things and I can't hear.  This time I heard and was able to respond to all of his chatter.  That was very nice!
When we got home Jayden had to tell daddy about the ducks, baby ducks, big truck, cars, and airplanes he saw.  It was a nice little walk.
I liked using the carrier. I felt closer to Jayden and was able to respond to him.  I am not sure that I had it on perfectly right, and likely it was wrong.  But I think that comes with lots of practice.  I did get a little bruise mark on my left shoulder from the carrier, but it was probably my fault for doing it wrong.  I will get better at this.  Next time I think I want to try the hip carry and I am not sure where I will go, but I want to do it this weekend.

Disclaimer: I was provided a Lillebaby Everywear carrier free of charge to participate in the challenge and give my opinion. I was not compensated in any way to write this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

  1. Great pictures and Jayden is definitely a 'cool little toddler'!

Does he mess with his sunglasses? I can't get J to leave his alone, so we end up with a hat instead!

  2. Oh I love seeing ducks and of course Jayden looked adorable. I think the drivers were probably lookin' at you. Smile. But the carrier is handsome although it looks like a lot of space between Jayden's top leg and that strap, but if you felt secure then it passes the test for me. Great review.

  3. I love baby stuff of every kind but sometimes using the stuff can be challenging for me. I usually do not look like the put together momma when on an outing! I would probably be dragging the carrier or the kid, lol trying to figure out how to get it to work!!

  4. Hi Arizona Mama,
Erin from Scandinavian Child here. I'm sorry you've had some trouble with your carrier. Here are two video clips on how to wear it on your back. I hope they help! If not, please don't hesitate to call our customer service line. We want you to have a fabulous experience with your product and be able to get the most use out of it possible.

  5. I loved wearing my babies. My twins didnt like it much but the youngest got used to it eventually. The duckies are super cute too!
