JumpStart Read for the Record

So what are you doing on Thursday, October 7, 2010??  I hope that you plan to join the Jumpstart Read for the Record.  What is Jump Start Read for the Record you ask??
Jumpstart’s Read for the Record©, presented in partnership with Pearson, is Jumpstart’s world record breaking campaign that brings children and adults together to read the same book, on the same day, in homes and communities all over the world. The campaign also kicks off Jumpstart’s yearlong program, preparing preschool children in low-income neighborhoods for success in school and life.
So every year they are picking one book for everyone to read.  Last year the book was Eric Carle's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.'  And Jayden loved it.  Of course Jayden loves most all books.  This year the book chosen is 'The Snowy Day' by Ezra Jack Keats.
So go sign up today to get counted in Read for the Record.  If you don't have a copy of 'The Snowy Day' then you can check your local library.  Or go HERE and find out how you can read it virtually and when you read it online the Pearson Foundation will donate a book to a child in Jumpstart's year-long early education program.

What are you waiting for!  Go sign up now.  Make some special bonding memories with your child and help out a cause while you do it.  You can also follow Jumpstart on facebook and twitter for updates and information about contests.

I was not compensated in anyway for this post.  I just strongly believe that reading is important and wanted to share this information with my readers.  All thoughts and opinions are that of my own.
