Gingerbread House Construction

So this is the first year that we made a gingerbread house and we had some fun for sure.  I think I would love to continue to make a gingerbread house every year.  Although messy, it was fun....

I bought the kit with everything in it.  I started by getting the walls up, and of course Jayden helped.
I added the roof and Jayden realized that I was using yummy frosting to hold it together.  He kept asking, "can I have more mommy?"
He took a few tastes of the candies as he decorated the little tree.
It was 1 for the tree and 2 for me...
He then added the items to the roof of the house...
When it was finished he asked, "Can I eat it now?"

I told him to wait so we can show Grandma... of course he had a few pieces.  When grandma came over the next day the first thing he showed her was  his house.  He said, "look at this."  When she commented on his house he asked me, "Can I eat it now?"

  1. Looks like J is having fun! This year was our first gingerbread house too. I assembled the house the night before then let the grandbabes do all the decorating. I agree it is a bit messy but worth it.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

  2. SO much fun! He did such a great job too! Did it taste as good as it looks?? =)
