Potty Training Story (the one with poop)

I haven't posted any personal posts in a while and I wanted to share a little about how things are going with potty training.  We started potty training very slowly.  I tried the 3 day potty training method and it didn't work out so well.  I have continued to work with Jayden, but I will be honest I am not consistent and most the time he wears diapers.  I have reasons or excuse however you want to call them.  I work full time and the sitter does not want him having accidents all over her house.  She will take him to use the potty, but doesn't want to go cold turkey.  I get tired and admit that a diaper is easier, and besides his diapers are super cute!
Anyway I wanted to share a couple of funny stories with you all.  First about 2 weeks ago Jayden had a rash that was clearing, but it took a few days.  I decided one day after work to just take off his diaper and let him run around naked.  He loves to run around naked and it was just him and I.  So I tell him to tell me if he needs to go potty.  He says OK, and runs off playing.  He is playing with lots of different things as most 2 year olds do.  At one point he is kicking his soccer ball into his goal.  He yells, "mama I go poo poo."  So I jump up and say "ok lets go to the potty".  I pick him up and run.  I set him on the potty and he cries a little.  He tells me, "no mama I need diaper." (see he loves them too!)  I encourage him to stay and hugged him.  He kept trying to stand up, but I sat with him and praised him.  He went just a tiny bit in the potty.  He started to cry a little and I was yelling, "YAY!  You went poo poo in the potty.  your such a big boy."  He stopped crying and began to laugh.  Then he was quiet and looked at me.  He said, "Mama I poo poo on the carpet."  I went in the living room and sure enough there was a huge poo on his little road carpet!!  OMG!  He was worried I would be mad.  Of course I could not be mad at all.  He was already afraid to use the potty so I couldn't scare him more.  So I just acted like no big deal, cleaned it up, and let him flush it.
So needless to say we are still working at it.  It does get tough, but we will get there some day.  Do you have any funny potty training stories?  It is always nice to hear others have problems too.

  3. I've been having the same problem. My son is pee potty trained but not poop. Funny is that he is making progress. Sometimes he tries to hide he poops in his underwear or pullup and tries to clean it up. Stick with it and it will work :)
