Make your own Soda and save money SodaStream Review

When I was a teenager one of my friends families had a homemade soda maker.  I remember it tasted good, but I believe it was not super simple to use.  We would mix up some soda and hang out by the pool all summer long.  I received the SodaStream to review and it brought back all these memories.  But the SodaStream is much better than the one my friends family owned.

SodaStream makes carbonated water and soft drinks at home! You can turn tap water into sparkling water in under 30 seconds, with no clean-up. Enjoy the freshness and convenience of homemade soda and protect the environment at the same time. No heavy bottles to carry, store at home or throw away. Fizz to your taste and add the flavor of your choice to make your favorite drink. Simple to clean and reuse. With a variety of colors and silhouettes, you'll be sure to find a soda maker to match with any decor.

SodaStream is compact, convenient, and easy to use.  All you have to do is put in the carbonator attached the bottle filled with cold water, press the button on top 3 times, take the bottle out, add the flavor you want, give a little shake and its ready to drink.  There is no batteries, no electricity, and no plumbing.

I was sent a complete sampler kit with the sodastream maker, carbonator, 1 liter bottles, and a variety of flavors.  I first hooked it up I decided to try the cranberry raspberry first.  It was good.  My second taste was the diet pick grapefruit and I really liked this one.  John was not to sure about the sodastream.  I made the energy drink for him to try, John is a red bull drinker.  When making it I noticed that it smelled just like red bull.  John tried it and was happily surprised that it tasted exactly like red bull.  It was really good.  The diet Lemon Lime was also a big favorite in our home.  I love that there are lots of flavors to choose from and more are expected to be introduced soon.

Besides the choices and flavors available I love what a value the SodaStream is.  Each flavor bottle equals 33 cans.  And each flavor bottle only costs $5-$10 each.  That is a super value. That is a ton of savings if you drink lots of soda or just a little.  Also, since you only make 1 liter at a time you don't have to worry about the soda going flat and having to throw it out.

With SodaStream there is less packaging waste from cans and bottles and less pollution caused by transporting those bottled beverages.  With the sodastream there is less to store and less to throw out or recycle.

What I would change about the SodaStream.. really very little.  The liter bottles are not dishwasher safe and it would be nice if they were.  It is not real easy to clean out a liter bottle by hand.  I also would have liked to try some other flavors for the review, most the flavors I was sent were diet and we are not a big diet family.  Other than that I think the SodaStream is a great product and I do recommend it.

The SodaStream is a wonderful addition to any home or office.  And I love that you can get SodaStream and the flavor bottles at local retailers like Kohl's, Sears, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  (And if you go to Bed, Bath, and Beyond they always have coupons)  I can't wait to go pick some other flavors up and try them too.

The SodaStream system fountain jet starts at $79.95.
