Younger Skin with the Personal Microderm System

I have never had the best skin nor the worst skin.  I have some skin issues for sure, but nothing overly horrible.  My skin tends to be pretty sensitive and I hate that I have some large pores.  I was sent the Personal Microderm System to try recently.  The Personal Microderm System is an at home device meant to achieve amazing anti-aging results.  It works just like a professional microderm abrasion treatment without the hassle or cost. The hand-held device uses the same aluminum oxide crystals as the ten thousand dollar machines found at your doctor's office. It smooths away dead skin cells, diminishing age spots and other signs of aging.

The system includes:
1 personal microderm
5 exfoliating discs (2 green and 3 blue)
1 electric cord (Standard U.S. Outlet)
1 facial cap
1 body cap
1 reusable filter
Instructional CD and Pamphlet.

I was very interested in how this would work on my skin.  The kit included an instructional CD and everywhere in the packaging it warned to please watch the CD prior to use.  The CD was only 8 minutes and I admit I watched it twice.  I watched it when I first opened the package and a few hours later, when Jayden was in bed, i watched it again right before my first use.  The video was definitely a help with how to use the machine.

Upon first use I put in the blue dics as that is meant for sensitive skin and they suggest starting with the blue disc.  It was a little awkward trying to use it.  The CD suggests pulling the skin tight as you move the machine over that area.  It is hard to pull your skin tight and have a little machine suctioned to your face.  I was able to, but it wasn't easy the first time.  It did get easier as I used it.  The hardest spots are of course the small areas like around the nose.  The CD suggests only use it once a week or so.  I was also sent a small bottles of M2 lotion, as it is recommended to use it after use to help calm your skin.

I was worried about my skin being red after using it so I made sure I used it in the evening prior to a weekend.  That way if my skin was really red I didn't have to go to work with a red face.  So I tried it out.  Like I said before it was a little awkward at first, but got easier.  Upon finishing the first time my face was a little red, but not bad.  And it was clear by the morning.  I tried it again a week later with similar results, small amounts of redness that went away by morning.  By the second use I did notice that my face felt a little softer.  My skin also seemed to be breaking out a little more.  I am not sure if that is because the PMD was pulling off the dead skin cells and helping my skin to eliminate those blemishes or if I was just having some regular skin outbreaks due to that time of the month.  I used the PMD again and the results are the same.  I decided to try the other disc to see how that works on my skin.  My face was redder then before, but easily cleared up by morning.

After using the PMD for a couple weeks I do feel like my skin is softer and my pores are clearing up some.  I do think that I need more use before I can see the wonderful results that are described with the PMD.  I think that my skin feels better than it looks.  I did take some before and after pictures to share with you.  I don't usually like to take pictures of myself, especially close up with no make-up, but I feel like you need to see it yourself on a real person.  I will continue to use the PMD.

What I like so far about the PMD is that my skin does feel softer and I think I am seeing some results.  I think it will get better with continued use.  What I don't like about the PMD is that the disc's don't last but a couple of uses and you have to buy more.  Plus I think it would be nice to have a bag or case for it.  There are lots of small parts that can easily get lost.

If your interested in trying the PMD for yourself then check it out at SkinCareRX.com.  The cost of the Personal Microderm System is $179.00.
