Potty Training with Potty Monkey Review & #Giveaway

So you all know that I have continued to work on potty training with Jayden. I will have to say he is more than half way there, maybe like 3/4 of the way. I was interested in the potty monkey system to see if that would put us over the top and complete the potty training stage. I was very happy when they agreed to sponsor a review and giveaway.

The potty monkey is designed by PottyMD. This is the ultimate toy for any child learning to potty train to dealing with various potty issues. Potty Monkey has a timer, asks to use the potty, makes positive statements and sings songs when he is placed on the toy potty. The child teaches the monkey to potty while the monkey helps to potty train the child. Includes plush monkey, flushing toilet, and Monkey Learns to Potty children's board book and The Potty Trainer parent's book.

The Potty Trainer Parent book has some great information and tips. One that caught my eyes is: Children can become very confused and discouraged especially if they develop pain with bladder spasms or bowel cramps from holding too long or not completely. This is Jayden for sure when it comes to bowel movements. I think he became very discouraged and scared after holding it for too long. Now he is no longer experiencing pain when he goes, but still has a fear and won't go on the potty. there are tips on choosing a potty chair, getting started, rewards, bed wetting, and more.

The Monkey Learns to Potty board book is very simple and easy to use. Potty Monkey himself comes wearing a diaper and he has some underwear to change into. If you press on his hand he says things like "I need to go potty", "Let's go potty", "I really need to go, Come on let's go potty" and he also talks and sings when he sits on the potty. You can set the potty monkey to go off every 30 or 90 minutes to remind your child to go potty. With Jayden I didn't set the timer since he is pee trained and he knows when he needs to go. I wanted to use the potty monkey to help him to sit on the potty to go poop. The learning toilet has a real flushing sounds.

When we opened it up Jayden immediately wanted to take the diaper off and put him on the potty. Jayden loved pressing his hand and hearing him ask to go potty. He kept making him go potty. It got kind of annoying to keep taking the underwear on and off for him, lol. He put him on the potty and then "flushed" the potty. Since Jayden knows when he needs to go I approached the use of the potty monkey a little different. When he asked to get a baby diaper to go poop I encouraged him to sit on the potty with the potty monkey. We put the potty monkey next to his potty. Jayden loved sitting with the potty monkey, but unfortunately would not go poop on the potty.

I like the potty monkey and I will continue to use the potty monkey to encourage Jayden to go on the potty. I really like this idea and think it would have worked faster for us if I started when Jayden was first learning. But I will not give up, Jayden will not go to collage wearing a baby diaper to poop. The Potty Monkey system is a great system to start with on potty training. I really like the timer system. The only thing I don't really like is that the underwear are hard to get on and off. Jayden wants to continually put the monkey on the potty, which means underwear on and then off. Jayden can not put them on himself so I have to do it.
