Out Today in Theaters Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked *Must See*

Today is opening day of the third movie Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked.  I was so excited to be able to see the premiere of this movie last weekend with John and Jayden.  It was Jayden's first movie Theater experience.

The vacationing Chipmunks and Chipettes are turning a luxury cruise liner into their personal playground, until they become ‘chipwrecked’ on a remote island.  As the ‘Munks and Chipettes scheme to find their way home, they accidentally discover their new turf is not as deserted as it seems. Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked is rated G and appropriate for the whole family.

Going to see this movie I was very excited to see how Jayden would react in the theater.  Getting to the theater there was a long line and I was worried at first because my name was not on the list, but after a short phone call the PR person called us in and showed us to our seats.  We settled in with some popcorn and a drink.  Jayden sat between us and was excited for it to start.  When the movie began he was almost memorized and in a trance.
The movie begins as Dave, the Chipmunks, and the Chipettes are boarding a cruise ship.  Of course almost immediately Alvin finds trouble.  As Dave tries to smooth things over with the captain the chipmunks continue to get into more trouble until they become "chipwrecked" on a remote island.  The chipmunks and chipettes discover many new things as they continue to hold out hope for a rescue by Dave.  The movie has many current references that adults will enjoy.  There is a part where Alvin says, "Winning".  And they sing many current songs from artists like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.  The movie is lots of fun for both children and adults.

Jayden did pretty good with the movie.   At about three quarters of the way through the movie he became a little restless.  He needed to use the restroom and then kept laying across John or myself.  At about 15-20 minutes before it ended John finally took him out to walk a little and they found a small arcade to play games at.  I think for his very first experience at the movies he did excellent.  After the movie was over they had posters for everyone that wanted one.  When you go see the movie don't leave when the first credits begin.  There is a little more that comes after the first credits.

Just this morning while driving in to work we heard the Chipmunks advertisement on the radio.  Jayden said, "mommy its the chipmunks.  Remember we saw the movie on the big screen?"  I definitely will be getting this movie on DVD when it is released as a memory of Jayden's first official movie theater movie.

Are you planning to see the movie?  Have you seen the other two?  Don't forget to see my review of the Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked Wii game.

I was provided passes to see the premiere of Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked.  I was not compensated.  All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced by anyone.  disclosure

  1. Oh what fun! I am glad Jaydens first experience was so much fun for him. The fact that he stayed awake for most of the movie in the dark theater is impressive to me.

I hope this movie is still playing at the theater after Christmas, I want to take the grandbabies. We saw previews when we were at the Muppet Movie and they wanted to see it too. (and so do I, hee hee).
