Disney Universe Wii Video Game Review

I shared with you that we have a new Wii game system and Disney Interactive was kind enough to send me some games to try out.  One of those games was Disney Universe.

Disney Universe is an off-the-wall non-stop action adventure where Disney worlds and characters mix up for the first time. Suit up in iconic costumes and face challenges in legendary Disney worlds. Defeat enemies, collect coins and powerups, unlock new costumes and explore with friends as you battle in a mix-up of worlds inspired by numerous Disney and Pixar films.

Game Features

  • Suit-up for action as more than 40 classic and contemporary Disney characters including Alice, Mike, TRON and Stitch.
  • Mischief, magic and mayhem reign as players explore 6 different worlds inspired by Disney and Pixar films.
  • Team up with up to four friends to solve puzzles or defeat enemies or toss your friend into trouble!
I was a little worried this would be above Jayden's head and he would be frustrated.  He tends to get frustrated pretty easy.   It is designed for 10+ so clearly out if his age range.  But we decided to try it.  Turns out that yes the true playing of the game and following what you need to do was difficult and a little above Jayden, but he still had fun.  Actually both Jayden and I played on the same controller together.  I controlled where the guy walked and Jayden made him jump, hit, and all the other things he did.  We had so much fun!  Jayden laughed and laughed.  We had a great time playing together and since I was helping and just made it no big deal when his guy would fall or die then he didn't get super frustrated.  I think he would have been frustrated if I left him to play alone.

This game is a fun game, it does include what they call cartoon violence.  There is fighting, but no blood or gore.

Buy it:  Disney Universe for Wii $49.99

    6. My kids have been bugging me to get this video game! I have to admit the costumes look so cute but I dislike buying games only to have them played for a short time. Video games are expensive. Luckily since I started working for DISH, we have Blockbuster Movie Pass. So when this game becomes available my family can have it mailed to our home since it's already in our queue of requests. We can get the latest and greatest video games with BBMP! I imagine this would be a great family bonding time.
