My Pregnancy Journal Week 13

Happenings of the Harper Household

Week 13

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Symptoms:   No headaches this week.  Still a little tired, but not as bad.  Belly is showing for sure now and I feel baby moving often, usually early in the morning.

Weight Gain: another pound so 8 lbs overall.

Cravings: Not really anything specific

Food Aversions: nothing

What made me cry this week: Just cried a little more that the thought of not being a mommy to a girl got me again.  Still holding some hope, but not putting too much into it.  Also, the vacation we were going to take in May seems we will not go so I cried a little that we can't do it.  Sad, but probably for the best.

Thoughts from Jayden:  Jayden is an active little boy so when he climbs on me I ask him to be careful because he's gonna hurt me and he always says, "and the baby too?"  Just today I asked him for a hug and he told me no, he was being stubborn.  I said the baby wants a hug.  He stared at my belly and said, "the baby in your belly wants a hug?"  I told him yes and he had this serious look on his face and stared at my belly some and finally said no.  Stinker!!  of course later he came and hugged us.

Something I am excited about:  Feeling baby move already!  I can't believe I have been feeling all the flutters so early.  I love this feeling.

  1. Aw, your belly is so cute! And try not to dwell too much on the sex of your baby. Everything happens for a reason!

  4. My son wanted nothing to do with my belly during the early stages of my pregnancy with my not ten month old. Enjoy the hugs and sweetness you get from yours :) I love having two boys! They play together and are so sweet to one another. We talk about having a third, part of me wants a girl... But part of me wants another little boy!

  8. Congrats again, you look great! That is awesome that you don't have any food aversions. During the first trimester I had an aversion to food in general :(
