Dinosaur Train Eggstravaganza DVD Review

Its almost Easter!  Do you have your eggs decorated?  Do you have your kids Easter baskets ready to go?  I must admit I do not have any of the above.  Heck I don't even have any eggs to decorate yet.  I have lots to do in the next couple days.  When gathering items to fill up Jayden's basket I want to limit the amount of sweets and candy.  I always look for other fun items to add in.  One thing that would make a great edition to an Easter basket this year is Dinosaur Train Eggstravaganza DVD.

Dinosaur Train combines the excitement many preschoolers have with Trains and Dinosaurs.  They explore life science, natural history, and paleontology.  In this Eggstravaganza, Buddy and Don find some unhatched eggs that look to be abandoned.  Then as they are watching the eggs an egg snatcher comes along and is taking the eggs.  They call upon the other dinosaur kids to help them solve the mystery of the eggs and the egg snatcher.  They soon find out that the eggs belong to a Oviraptor mom that is trying to move her eggs to a safe place.  The dino kids help her to move her eggs in time to see them hatch into baby Oviraptors.

  • Episodes include:
  • The Egg Stealer?
  • Hatching Party
  • Tank's Baby Brother
  • Diamond Anniversary
  • Nursery Car All Kinds of Families
  • A Sea Turtle Tale
  • The Good Mom
Immediately when I put this DVD on Jayden stopped to watch.  He was very interested in the show.  He really enjoyed the Eggstravaganza DVD and told me he watches Dinosaur Train at Nana's house sometimes.  He liked the stories on the DVD.  I really liked Tank's Baby Brother.  This will be good to revisit again with Jayden as we get closer to the baby coming.

Dinosaur Train is geared toward 3-6 year olds.  This DVD has approximately 100 minutes run time.

  1. This sounds like a great DVD my son has not watched this show yet.

  2. This looks like a great DVD that would be good for the younger age group like it states. I think both of my kids would like that since they are in that age range and they both like dinosaurs :)
