Walk With Me to Support Children with Disabilities

You might remember earlier this month a good friend shared some information about Autism and Statistics.  Those numbers really scares me and it is a frightening and difficult thing to go though having a child with Autism or any disability.  I am thankful daily that Jayden has been healthy and I pray that baby boy will also be just as healthy.  I work with children daily and many have disabilities and limitations.  But with help of many organizations those limitations are fewer.  One of those great organizations is Easter Seals.  Easter Seals is a non-profit provider that helps individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and other special needs.  Easter Seals serves over a million children and adults with disabilities every year.  Easter Seals creates life changing opportunities so that those with disabilities can live, learn, work, and play.

Easter Seals stretches over the country and each local Easter Seals has a specific focus.  The Easter Seals in Arizona is focus on serving children with disabilities.  I happen to work for the agency that also houses Easter Seals.  I do not work for Easter Seals, but the agency I work for has many different departments and Easter Seals is one of them.  Every year Easter Seals has a large benefit to raise money in order to provide the wonderful services they have for all children and families.  The event is called Walk With Me.  If you have been around for a while you might remember that every year I participate in this event.  Actually Jadyen and I have participated in it every year since it came here to Phoenix, AZ.  Teams are formed and teams raise money.  Every year our team is called, Walk With Jayden and Aidan.  My friend Chantel and I always walk with the boys since they were just under a year old.  It is a fun, family event in which we walk, raise money, and get to participate in some fun activities.

If you are able to we would love some monetary support for this fundraiser.  You can easily donate by going to the Easter Seals Walk with Me site.  Both Jayden and I have a fund that we are working to raise money.  We would love it if you could help by donating.  The link for Jayden is here and the link for me is here.  We would and do appreciate any amount you are able to give.  Every little bit counts and it all goes to children with disabilities.

The Walk With Me Event in Phoenix takes place at Steele Indian School Park on Saturday, May 5, 2012.  The actual walk begins at 9 am with some pre-walk activities and post walk activities.  It is very family and even dog friendly.  Every year it gets bigger and bigger and I can't wait to see how wonderful it is this year.  If your in Phoenix and want to participate then you can either form a team or you are welcome to join our team.  If your not in Phoenix then check the website for an event near you.  If your not close, but want to help then I encourage you to donate and help support us as we walk 1.25 miles.

I have to say THANK YOU to those of you that are able to donate and help.

I was not compensated in any way for this post.  I am participating in this event and want to bring more awareness and hopefully receive some support for a good cause.
