Celebrating Dad SKIL Power Tools Sponsor Spotlight

Father's Day is coming very soon.  Do you know what the dad in your life wants?  I know many dads love tools and gadgets.  I am happy to share with you an awesome sponsor.  SKIL has generously provided two great new tools for review and giveaway in this event.  I am happy to share with you the iXO Palm-Sized Screwdriver and the Lithium Ion Power Cutter.

First the iXO Palm-Sized Screwdriver is compact, lightweight, and great for any household.  It has 4V max power with four times as long run time.  The Lithium Ion power will hold a charge for up to 18 months.  That in itself is awesome since often when we need to use the drill it has no charge and we have to go back and charge it.  Not that it was left without a charge, but after so long of no use it loses what charge it may have had.  The iXO comes with a 5 piece bit set and the charger.  The iXO also has a forward/reverse LED indicator that shows the drilling direction and a site light for better visibility.  It also has a battery gauge to show how much battery is left.

We used the iXO Palm-Sized Screwdriver while putting together baby boys crib.  It was the perfect tool to use.  It was simple to use, lightweight, and small enough to fit into small places.  Jayden really loved the screwdriver as it was a perfect fit in his hands and easy for him to use.  The site light was great as it helped to guide the bit into the right place for the inset screws.  John liked that it was easy to get in some of the hard to reach places since it was small.  I liked that it made putting the crib together so much easier.  My only complaint is I'd love to see it with a small bag or some way to hold the bit set.  I think the bits will be easily lost if not careful.

The second product I was sent is the Lithium Ion Power Cutter.  This power cutter can cut tons of material.  It can cut up to 1/4 inch thick.  It even cuts carpet, corrugated cardboard, fabric and leather, vinyl flooring, and more.  This cutter also holds a charge up to 18 months so it is ready to go when you are.  It is lightweight at less then 1 lb.  It features an auto sharp blade design for clean results.  Like the screwdriver it has a battery gauge so you know how much battery life is left.  The power cutter has an energy star qualified battery charger for a better environment.  The battery is 3.6V Lithium Ion.  This tool is also less then 1lb in weight.  This includes the power cutter, blade, and charger.

We have not had a chance to use this yet.  With John out of town and getting started in a new job he hasn't had much time for projects.  But he is excited to try it out soon.  The tool itself seems to be similar to a pair of electric scissors, but better.  I like that it is lightweight and has everything in one, except the charger of course.  My brother was over the other day and when he saw it he immediately was interested and had a list of things he could use it for.  He really liked that it was Lithium.  I had to tell him to back off since its for John.  He wants to be in line to use it soon.

SKIL has some great products that will make dad happy for Father's Day.  Both the iXO Palm-Sized Screwdriver and the Lithium Ion Power Cutter are sure to make any tool interested dad happy.
