Get Caught Reading with Dinosaur Train: Guess Who, Buddy! Dinosaur Train Book Review

Readers Digest Children's Publishing and Dinosaur Train celebrate Get Caught Reading Month!

This campaign is to help everyone of all ages remember how fun it is to read.  The Jim Henson Company has teamed up with Reader's Digest Children's Publishing to offer a review of the Dinosaur Train book Guess Who Buddy!!

Early language experiences stimulates a child's brain to grow.  Reading with children from birth gives them a large jump start.  The vocabulary in books help to expand children's knowledge.  The Association of American Publishers (AAP) participates in a variety of ways in Get Caught Reading to encourage all ages to enjoy books and reading.  As part of this campaign, Buddy, from Dinosaur Train is pictured "caught reading" in posters that are available to teachers and parents.  The Buddy poster is available free plus a $5.00 charge per set (1-12 posters) for shipping and handling.

In the book, Guess Who Buddy!, Buddy plays a guessing game with his friends as he guesses who each dinosaur is.  Kids play along as they read the fun text and lift the flaps to find the hidden dinosaur friend.  Jayden and I read this book together.  The pictures are brilliant and the guessing game in the story is fun.  Jayden really liked trying to pronounce the different types of dinosaurs.  The flaps themselves are thick and sturdy.  This book seems even though it is a lift the flap type book should last a long time.

The most successful way to improve reading achievement scores is to increase access and exposure to books and print.  Higher achievement scores have been linked to an abundance of books in public library's and easy access to books for families.  A great way to get more books in  your community is to organize a book drive, check out Donation Town, or simply donate your gently used books.

I was provided the above book for review purposes.  I was not compensated in any way.  All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced.  disclosure

  4. I'm a firm believer in reading to children. I began when mine were too young to understand but I enjoyed my time with them. My grandchildren are read to nightly as it's part of their bed routine.
