Have Fun While Learning Letter Construction Review & Giveaway

I have another great product from Learning Resources to share with you today.  As I have told you before I love Learning Resources and all the great products they have.  I was recently sent the Letter Construction Activity Set.  The Letter Construction Activity Set is a set of color coded plastic pieces that snap together to make letters.  The set comes with 88 large durable pieces and 13 double sided activity cards to help you to build letters.

The Letter Construction Activity Set helps you to build the alphabet piece by piece.  The activity cards give very clear instructions by showing pictures of which pieces you need and how they go together.  Using the cards you can make both upper and lowercase letters.  There are many different suggested activities you can use with this set. Some of the learning objectives with this set are fine motor, eye hand coordination, letter recognition, letter identification, and problem solving. Depending on how you interact with your child while playing with this you can also get letter sound identification, words that begin with the letters, counting, and more.  I could even see building words with the letters.

Jayden immediately wanted to pull out the pieces and start making letters.  First he said, "lets make an A for Aidan."  So we got the activity card for A and pulled aside the shapes required to make both the upper and lowercase A.  Taking the pieces apart at first were a little difficult, but we were both able to separate them after a little trying.  Once each piece from the card were laid out then I pointed out to Jayden how they went together.  With a small amount of help Jayden was able to snap together the pieces.  He then began to make more and more letters.  As he used the cards and made letters he got better and better at identifying the pieces needed and how they went together.  He was even telling me things that begin with the letters.

I really like that the pieces are durable and easy to follow.  Jayden can play with these on his own or we can interact for different learning activities.  There are plenty of pieces to complete the letters and you could even have multiple children working to make the letters.  Although the cards give you a way to make the letters, there are other ways they can be used to make the same letters.  This set is fun and helps to build the creative mind.  This is yet another way that Learning Resources brings fun to learning.  The set is for ages 3+.
