My Pregnancy Journal Week 28

Week 28

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world. From BabyCenter

Random Thoughts: Baby boy has been kicking and moving lots more lately.  Still mostly up high, yay!  John texted me the other day to tell me about the cool item I received to review for baby boy.  I texted back and said I think it will be great for baby boy.  He said, we need to name that baby!  funny I am not in as much of a rush to name him as I was with Jayden.  Maybe because Jayden's name changed a month before he was born.  He was originally an Ethan.  Seems like everything is just not as rushed as it was with Jayden.  By now I had his room painted, set up and ready to go.  This poor baby has an empty crib.. and a few things purchased and not set up.  I still need to prep his diapers, well the few I have for his size.

Symptoms/Medical:  Still sleepy on and off.  Some nights I can't sleep and some I am to tired to do anything.  I have experienced some back pain and some Braxton Hicks contractions.  Sometimes when I get the contractions it feels more comfortable to get down on all fours, but this is a huge invitation for Jayden to jump on and ask for a horsey ride.  Not fun for me!  Oh, and tomorrow I get to go for the fun glucose test.  I am not really worried as there was no concern last time.  But this time I have to do it all in the office.  My last doctor gave me the drink and said drink it 1 hour before my appointment.  This one says I have to come in drink it and wait the hours.. oh fun with Jayden there too!  John found out last minute that he has to work so he can't take Jayden.  Oh and the lady always has problems with my veins so I have to drink as much water as I can before my appointment and ask for a compress when I get there.. lovely!  But wish me luck that I pass.  I have not gained as much as last time and I am not swelling as much either so likely it is all good, but we will see.

Weight Gain: 2 lbs up... 29lbs over all. :( Always seem to gain more right before a doctors appointment.

Cravings: Nothing particular.. anything yummy

Food Aversions: Nothing this week.

What made me cry this week: Nothing really this week.

Thoughts from Jayden:  Jayden walked into my room Saturday morning and said, "Mama did the baby come out yet?"  I said, "no."  He sighed a big sigh and said, "ok." as he walked out.  LOL!!  The next day while I was sitting on the couch Jayden looked at me and said, "I'm gonna give the baby a hug and a kiss ok?"  I said sure.  He very, I mean very lightly hugged around my belly and then gently kissed my belly.  Then he said "and I'm gonna pet the baby too mama."  As he stroked my belly a couple times.  It was so cute and funny.  I swear he is so rough with me, but when he hugs and kisses the baby he is super gentle.  Jayden has been asking me often if the baby is kicking me, especially when I am having contractions or he sees my hand on my belly.

Something I am excited about:  Well, I am excited that we did put together the crib!!!  YAY!  Its so pretty.. what do you think?  Now I just need a mattress and some bedding.  Oh and the dresser/changing table.  I am excited that tomorrow (Friday) is my last day for a short week vacation.  So Jayden and I will be working to clean house, do fun things, and prepare for his birthday.  I can't believe my little boy will be 4 years old soon.  YIKES!!  I feel a little behind this year.  I was way prepared the last few years, but this year I don't even know which day his party will be on.  John doesn't know his schedule so not sure if it will be a Saturday or Sunday party.  I do know it is going to be Monster Trucks!!  Jayden keeps telling me he want's a BIG BIG BIG Monster Truck cake for his party and to invite ALL his friends, like lots of people... sorry kid I can do the Monster Truck cake, but as for lots of people I hope!

  1. I cracked up when your little guy said he wanted to "pet" a baby...too precious and priceless.

    Joys and pains of Motherhood~**

  2. so beautiful - I love that youre sharing your journey with us :)

  3. Love that crib! Can't wait to hear what name you guys decide on too! :)

  4. When I was reading about the names, we did that with my son. I called him baby boy also. So, when he was born, his sister only called him "baby boy". I then found a little baby outfit and on the leg, it said "boy". It seemed to fit. You seem to be doing great so far. It always happens that we don't get too much done for second or third child. Gosh, my poor 3rd one, hmmm, not as many pics or anything, no time by then

  5. Sounds like you're having a wonderful pregnancy. After having your first, the others don't seem to carry as much urgency. lol So sweet about Jayden!!

  6. You are so stinking cute! &I love that dress!!

  7. Oh I can image how great a big brother Jayden will be. It is so sweet when siblings are close. I bet you are really getting excited...the crib is a blank canvas now. How are you going to decorate it?
