Build Imagination with Lincoln Logs and Best Friends Building Set from K'nex

I have repeatedly shared that I like toys that are learning toys.  I like for Jayden to get toys he can learn from.  A big part of learning is imagination and exploration.  I like to find items that can be changed and used in different ways when possible.  When I heard that K'nex wanted to send me something to review I was excited. We already have some great K'nex products and they make a great edition to imaginative play for Jayden.  I received the box in the mail and it had both Lincoln Logs and Best Friends Building Set.

First of all John and I both looked at the Lincoln Logs and remembered back to when we were kids and we had them.  So of course John was just as excited as Jayden.  They opened the box immediately to start building.  We received the White River Ranch Lincoln Logs set.  There are 90 pieces to the set.  The set includes 79 real wood logs of varying sizes, a cowboy figure, a horse, a dog, a cow, a hay bale, a trough, a flag, a door, a door frame, a gable roof, an add on roof, and instructions.  The Instructions give you a few options on building the ranch.  I like that it doesn't just give a single way to build adding more imagination is always good.  The pieces are well made and not too small.  John got down on the floor and between him and Jayden they decided on the ranch to build.  The began building and it became a little more important to John to make it the 'right' way.  He was a little frustrated with Jayden when he would put the blocks in the wrong spot, but I liked to see Jayden trying different things.  The set lends itself well to creativity and diversity.  It does have a little bit of limits with the amount and size of roofs and the door.  But as more sets are added it makes it a more versatile set.  The set also helps with fine motor skills, such as eye hand coordination.  There is a lot of problem solving.  Either on their own or with others as children communicate and work together to build.  I definitely like this product for boys and girls alike to build and explore.

Like I said I was also sent the Best Friends Building Set.  This set had Elmo and Cookie Monster from Sesame Street.  Children can take them apart and put them together in different ways.  This is a small set so there are only 8 pieces to make 2 people.  They can be mixed and matched as you want.  This set requires some eye hand coordination and some thinking skills to sort the pieces.  The pieces are chunky and work great for little hands.  Jayden was excited to see his two favorite Sesame Street characters.  These guys are fun and make a great addition to our other K'nex sets we already own.

If your looking for a fun, classic toy that encourages imagination and fun then you should look into all that K'nex has to offer.
