My Pregnancy Journal ~ Week 32

Week 32

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth. From BabyCenter

Random Thoughts:  Well, we may have settled on a name.  I am not ready to announce it just yet, but I expect it will stick.  John is very attached to it.  I like it, but could go a different way too.  Jayden likes it too. It seems like I am so close to the end.. and yes I know I am.  But yet there are still 8 weeks to go.  I find my self wondering how my labor will go this time.  Will I be early or on time.  I don't think the doctor will let me go much past my due date with my history of a big baby.  She did say that as we get closer and if he seems big they may want to induce a week early.  But we will see.  I still don't know how we are going to handle who will be with Jayden.  I really wanted my mom in the room again and was hoping to have MIL with him.  But she helps so much with my nephew and nieces that she may not be available.  I may have to have my mom with him.  I have not packed a bag yet.. but maybe that is too early anyway.  I don't remember when I packed for Jayden.  I also have not registered for the hospital.  Need to do that for sure!

Symptoms/Medical:  Went to the doctor yesterday.  I was happy I got to see my normal PA.  Happy to see her, have not seen her since I got pregnant.  Baby boy's heartbeat was really high because he kept moving around in there.  I think she was a little concerned until it came down.  It got up to 185 or so.  But it came down rather quickly.  She determined Baby boy is head down on the left side, booty at the top on the left side and feet are on the top right side.  Explains all the movement on the right side.  Those little feet and knees are killing me inside.  I swear there are bruises inside me.  We talked about birth and some concerns.  Jayden was big, over 9 lbs, and I am a little scared that this one will be too.  She said I am measuring fine, with Jayden I began measuring big and kept measuring big to the end.  I told her I really don't want a C-Section unless I have to.  She said she didn't think that would be a problem.  If I could deliver Jayden with little issues (other then vacuum) then he paved the way and this baby should be easier to deliver.

Weight Gain: 1 lbs up... 36lbs over all. BIG!!  Dr. says my weight gain is fine.. it is all belly out front.  Lets hope it is easy to lose after.

Cravings: I guess milkshakes.  I decided to get a strawberry shake on Monday on my way home from work.  Jayden and I shared it.  Then after my OB appointment yesterday Jayden and I got a chocolate milk shake.  They are so tasty.. but kind of expensive.

Food Aversions: None as usual.

What made me cry this week:  I got a call on Thursday morning from Jayden's sitter's son.  He called to tell me they had a death in the family and to see if I could pick Jayden up.  Nana (Jayden's sitter) was so upset and understandable could not properly care for Jayden.  Plus she really did not want Jayden to see her upset and crying.  I contacted my manager and left work.  I got to her house and first sat with her a while and it of course made me cry a little.  Her oldest son had committed suicide.  It was not unexpected, but at the same time a shock.  He had made comments and threats over the past few years she said, but she still could not believe it.  He is older in his late 50's.  So there was a little crying along with her before I left with Jayden.

Thoughts from Jayden:  Jayden likes to talk to the baby lately.  When the baby was kicking the other day he ran over and said, "baby stop kicking mommy.  It hurts her."  He also wants to feed the baby.  He will put crackers on my belly.  I told him that he can't eat that way and he eats when mommy eats.  So he began feeding me crackers.  Jayden has been huggy and kissy on the baby lots too.  Tonight I was sitting on the couch and Jayden came and laid across me.  He said, "I want to lay down with my baby brother."  I had to laugh a little.  Then he rolled a little and said, "I squished my baby brother now."  He is loving his baby brother lately.  I hope it continues.  At my appointment this week we took a build a bear sound recorder.  We recorded the babies heart beat.  So we will take Jayden soon to build a stuffed animal for the baby.  He keeps telling me he wants to make the baby a frog.  Don't know why, but that is his choice.  Now Jayden wants to constantly listen to the babies heart beat.  He also tells everyone that the baby had hiccups too.  (he did)

Something I am excited about:  I ordered the babies dresser/changer combo from Amazon this week and expect it next week.  Can't wait to set it up.  My mom took the bed from that room so now I have to room to put it in there.  I am also excited because I have been able to spend some special time with Jayden lately.  Today we went to the Children's Museum of Phoenix, tomorrow is Siblings Rule class, Monday we will watch the circus train come to town and they will bath the elephants, then on Wednesday we will go to the circus!  So much fun in one week.
