My Pregnancy Journal Week 33

Week 33

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood. From BabyCenter

Random Thoughts:  Each day I think this pregnancy is going to fast.  I can't believe how fast it has gone.. but then other times I think I still have time to go.  Mostly it is going quick.  I wonder often if baby will stay in the whole time or come early.  So many people keep telling me they think I will go early.  I sometimes think that too because of all I do.  Like at the circus on Wednesday I was holding Jayden and he was pushing up to see.  I do push myself to do more because I want to be a good mommy for Jayden, but I also worry that I might push myself too much.

Symptoms/Medical:  I have had some more Braxton Hicks contractions lately.  I have also had some pressure down there.  I feel like he is trying to push out sometimes.  I have felt dizzy a few times and I am getting very winded when walking.  At work I mostly take the stairs for a couple reasons.  Our building is only 4 (5 with the basement) floors.  It seems silly to take an elevator up or down a floor or two.  Also, it is an old building and the elevators have been acting weird.  I take the stairs, but then feel very winded and tired.  I just can't win.

Weight Gain: 1 lbs up... 37lbs over all.

Cravings: mmm more milkshakes!  I just found out today that Burger King has Happy Hour drinks from 2-5pm and that includes the milkshakes.  Jayden and I stopped today to get some.  I don't eat at Burger King, but I will drink their shakes for $1!

Food Aversions: None as usual.

What made me cry this week:  Nope.. no crying!

Thoughts from Jayden:  Jayden continues to love talking to, kissing, and hugging the baby.  The baby gets more love then I do.  But he has been extra loving lately all together.  We have received a few items in the mail for the baby and Jayden gets excited, but at the same time I think he feels a little left out of the gifts.  Today we received a package from an online baby shower I am involved with through my babyfit group of August 2012 mamas.  Jayden was excited that one of the items a turtle bath thermometer is something he can use too.  Plus there was a little blue dog security blanket.  Jayden was excited because he remembered he put that on our baby registry so he thinks he got it for the baby.

Something I am excited about:  We received the baby's dresser/changer combo!  It is still in a box in the entryway, but I am hoping to get it put together this weekend.  I can do more with the baby's room.  Also, I have heard from some great sponsors that want to be a part of my baby event coming when baby comes.  I'm excited to try these great items and share them all with you.
