First the Hot Dots Jr. Ace the Teaching Talking Dog is a magic talking pen that talks, barks, and lights up to let you know if your answer is correct or if you need to try again. The pen is designed for small hands and is easy to use. Ace will cheer when the child gets the correct answer. The pen is easily used just by gently pressing down on the dot below the pictures. Ace helps children to feel independent as they are able to use him on their own and he lets them know if they are right or need to keep trying. When the answer is correct he will cheer and his eyes light up green. When incorrect he will

When we received the box in the mail Jayden immediately identified the Educational Insights symbol on the outside so he knew it was for him. We opened it up and he picked the Alphabet Hot Dots Jr. Card set to use first. This set includes 72 Alphabet Activities on 36 double sided cards. Within the set some of the activities include uppercase, lowercase, and sequencing activities. There are 3 choices to choose from. So it might show a capital letter H at the top with a hat. Then at the bottom it shows n h s and under each letter is a black dot. The child would touch the dot under the corresponding lowercase letter and in this case letter h. I like that the set gets a little harder as it begins to sequence too.
The second set of cards we received was the Hot Dots Jr. set Numbers & Counting. This set takes into account that you child might have a little basic knowledge of numbers and counting already. This set also has 72 activities on 36 double sided cards. It includes activities like numbers, counting, number words, and sequencing. I like that this set has a variety of activities to teach numbers and counting. The set progressively gets more challenging. By adding in the number words this set also encourages letters and words. Jayden doesn't know the number words yet, but when he tells me the answer I can spell the word and he finds it.
There are many other sets of Hot Dots Jr. such as beginning science, problem solving, beginning phonics, colors, shapes, and patterns and sequencing. You can also get Kat, the talking teaching Kitty. As your child gets older there is the Hot Dots sets that teach higher level skills.
Buy it: Hot Dots Jr., Ace the Dog $12.99
Alphabet $14.99
Numbers and Counting $14.99
Win it: One (1) Arizona Mama Reader will win Hot Dots Pen of choice (Ace or Kat) and choice of any 2 sets of cards.
