Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.
From BabyCenter
Symptoms/Medical: Still have those horribly swollen feet. They are getting worse. I have to wear closed toe shoes in the classroom and since I am in classrooms all week that is what I am wearing. My feet are not fond of close toe shoes. I puff out the top and look like Miss Piggy. I have had a few contractions here and there, nothing even close to consistent. I have had some back pain too. Getting tired quick and just all around uncomfortable. I went to the doctor last Friday. She went ahead and checked me. I was not dilated any, but I was getting soft. So it has started... I am measuring right on and baby is looking good. The doctor asked me if I wanted to be on the elective induction list. I guess the hospital that I am going to has an elective induction list that you can be added to. I guess you can be on as early as 39 weeks, but it is 2-3 weeks out. Well, why add myself cause they won't let me go past 42 weeks (BUT PLEASE DON'T LET ME GO THAT LONG!!) I of course opted to not be added. Doctor also said that she can strip my membranes next week if I want (which is this Friday). I will probably do that. I did with Jayden and it didn't start labor right away, but every pregnancy is different.
Weight Gain: 2 lbs up... 47lbs over all.
Cravings: Still super thirsty.. also wanting lots of Peanut Butter. I'd love some good Mexican food too.
Food Aversions: None as usual.
What made me cry this week: I cried when my cat kept crying and having accidents. I realized she needed to be put to sleep. Its not an easy decision, but I knew it needed to be done. She was hurting and I couldn't let it keep going. Now we have no more pets. Jayden is not happy, but we will add to our family again when the baby is a little older.
Thoughts from Jayden: Jayden continues to hug and love on me lots. He talks to Baby Boy all the time. He is excited and just ready for him to be here. He is having a hard time with deliveries being for the baby and not for him lately. He was super happy the other night because his sister came to visit and he loves her. He doesn't know her very well since she has lived in TX up until now, but he gets supper happy when it comes to her. She is moving back to AZ to start a business with her mom. So he may be able to see her more.
Something I am excited about: Almost done and meeting baby boy~!! I can't believe the time is here. He will be here anytime now. Also, very excited that Friday is my last day of work. I am dying at work. But working up to the end helps me have just that little more time with my baby boy and little man.
