The Lamaze Infant Development has a comprehensive system of soft toys based on Lamaze International's philosophy of healthy parenting. They understand what matters most to parents in keeping their children healthy, happy, and safe. Lamaze toys are designed in conjunction with child development experts to engage babies. They have a color-coded age grades featured on all packaging to help identify the most developmentally appropriate toys. All items meet or exceed industry and consumer safety regulations to ensure complete safety for children. I was sent a Freddie the Firefly Musical Mobile to review.
Freddie the Firefly Musical Mobile is graded for 0-5 months old. Freddie has 4 soothing songs to choose from and keep baby engaged as well as aid in auditory development. It also has a volume control so you can set the music softer or louder. It can be set for 15 or 30 minutes. It features 4 colorful hanging firefly friends that move with the soft flapping wings to promote visual tracking. The wings on Freddie are reversible with high contrast patterns on one side and colorful patterns on the other to help fine tune baby's visual development. The variety of melodies, distinct characters, and a glowing light peak baby's interest and help baby distinguish faces, rhythms, and colors.
I placed the mobile in Evan's crib and was happy to find that it attached easily even with the sides of Evan's crib being larger. The holder for the mobile is quite large making it stick up quite a bit. I put Evan in his crib and turned on the mobile. He stared at the firefly as the wings moved up and down and the music played. I like the volume control and the ability to choose among 4 different songs. Each of the dangling firefly friends are colorful and positioned perfect for baby to look at. Many mobiles are positioned more for the parents and the child is not able to really see them, but these are directed toward the baby. I like the wings go up and down to make the mobile more interactive. Also, the firefly lights up and changes colors. The mobile uses 3 AA batteries.
