When you become a mom there are so many new worries and fears that enter your world. As a new mom all those fears and worries have come back with Evan. One of my big fears have always been how will my baby sleep safely. I worry about SIDs and suffocation while sleeping. With Jayden I used to wake up all the time and check to be sure he was still breathing. I still do that with Evan, although not as much. Recently the weather has started to get colder and in comes the dilemma of sleeping with a blanket. Babies should not sleep with a blanket due to the risk of suffocation. But then what do you do to keep your baby warm and safe while sleeping. Halo has a whole line of products to help you. I was sent the Halo SleepSack Swaddle.
The Halo Sleep Sack Swaddle really does two jobs in one. First the sleep sack is a great alternative to a blanket. It easily fist baby and keeps him or her warm without excess material that might get in the face and suffocate baby. It has a zipper opening in the front for easy access for diaper changes. It is also sleeveless to help reduce the risk of overheating. It is also an adjustable swaddle wrap that immobilizes baby's arms to prevent the "Moro" or startle reflex. And not only does it swaddle baby, but it is a 2 in 1 adjustable swaddle. The swaddle allows for baby's arms to be inside or out.
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute has approved the SleepSack Swaddle as "Hip Healthy". Read more about Hip Dysplasia and safe swaddling. The Halo SleepSack Swaddle is the #1 choice of hospital nurseries nationwide. HALO Innovations has been working with hospitals to provide SleepSack Swaddlers thought its HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative. Today, Over 800 hospitals nationwide are taking part in the program and modeling safe sleep practices for new parents right from their child's first day of life. The single biggest influencer on how parents will care for their baby in their home is from modeling of proper baby care in the hospital. Unfortunately for me neither of the hospitals that my boys were born in took part in this great program. I really wish they did.
The SleepSack swaddle comes in newborn and small only since it is not recommended to swaddle babies ones they can roll over. Halo makes sleep sacks for babies of all sizes including some for toddlers and preschoolers.
