Get Moving With Educational Insights Magic Moves Review and Giveaway

     Jayden is always jumping, wiggling, and dancing all over the place.  He is a typical 4 year old little boy.  I am always looking for ways to help him channel that energy.  Preferably he can channel it away from jumping on my couch.   Educational Insights recently came out with a new fun product called Magic Moves to get kids moving around.

     Magic Moves Electroinc Wand is a fun musical light up wand.  When you hold the wand and press the button it gives a fun command like fly like a bird or stomp like an elephant.  There are 90 fun movement commands.  The wand twinkles, lights up, plays music, and gives fun commands.  It has a variety of musical styles to get children up and moving their bodies.  This wand is great for individual children or for use in groups.

 This wand promotes:

*  creative movement
*  gross motor skills
*  physical activity
*  listening skills
*  following directions
*  higher vocabulary

       We opened up the Magic Moves Electronic Wand and tried it out.  Jayden loves to dance so this was perfect for him.  He immediately pressed the button and began dancing around with the wand.  It says things to do and relates them to animals.  Like slither like a snake or gallop like a camel.  You have to press the button for each new move and if you like a move you can repeat it by pressing a different button.  The wand lights up and blinks while your dancing to the music.  Jayden pressed the button and Evan and I danced around with him.  It was fun.  I then put Evan down in his chair and he loved watching his brother dance around.

     It is important for children (and adults) to get up and move.  Exercise is not always fun, but it is necessary.  With the Magic Moves Electronic Wand it is much more fun.  I think this is a great item for home or school.  As a teacher I can see this as a great item to have in the classroom.  I would give it to a student to lead the group in music and movement.  Children could take turns leading and when they are not leading then they can participate in the moves.  One of our favorite classroom songs is Animal Action where you move like animals.  This is very similar, but in a wand and with many more animals and moves.
