Searching For The Perfect Family Christmas Tree at Tolmachoff Farms

Tolmachoff Farms - Produce Farm Glendale Arizona

So last night we went out in search of the perfect Christmas tree for our family.  Growing up we always had fresh Christmas trees and I want the same for my children.  We didn't want to get our tree from a parking lot tree stand, we wanted something more authentic.  We have gotten our tree from Tolmachoff Farms before and really liked it so we decided to go back.  You might recall that we visited this farm in October for their corn maze and pumpkin patch.  The farm itself is only a couple miles from our home so that makes it convenient.

We went after I got home from work last night.  When we pulled into the farm we noticed lots of trees in a variety of sizes along with a big blow up Santa.  After getting out of the van Jayden pointed to a tree and said, "I want that one."  John and I looked at it and said it looks great, but lets just see all that they have.  We were welcomed and greeted kindly by the lady working there.  We walked around, looked at and touched different trees.  We didn't want anything huge as we don't have lots of room in our home.  We want a tree that was full, but we could hang ornaments on it.  So the perfect family Christmas tree for us.  We were free to explore and shop as we wanted.  I did have a question about the different trees and was helped immediately with a short explanation of the 3 different types of trees they carry.

Tolmachoff Farms has Douglas, Grand, and Nobel Christmas trees available.  It was really hard to make a choice because there were so many great trees.  They were all healthy and full.  There were trees of all different sizes.  We came down to just a couple of trees and finally decided to get the first one Jayden said he wanted.  Jayden was happy that he was the one that found our Christmas tree this year.

After picking our tree the lady took it to make a fresh cut and to cut some of the bottom branches off as John moved the van over.  And Jayden made a new friend.  There was a cat that came running up to Jayden and Jayden was in heaven.  He wanted to hold the kitty and told me he loved that kitty.  The cat seemed to love him too and wanted to go home with us.  After John tied to tree to the van Jayden got in so easily and we found out why.. the cat jumped in our van too.  We had to take him out, which made Jayden sad.  We had to close the doors because the cat kept wanting to go with us.  He jumped in again on Evan's side.  The cat was super friendly.

If your still in need of a Christmas tree this year or any year in the future then I'd say stop by Tolmachoff Farms and see all the great trees they have available.  And while your there check out what they have in the fresh, hand picked produce.  I'm sorry we missed the fun of a Santa visit the past 2 weekends, along with a bonfire, apple cider, hot chocolate, kettle corn, and s'mores.  Next year I will be sure to stop by the farm when they have this special event.

  1. So much fun! We just went to a tree farm and cut one down. I am loving all of these Christmas tree photos - love it!

  2. I love going to get a Christmas tree, it is one of my favorite traditions! That is so cute about the cat!! I would have taken it home lol

  3. Awesome! SO cool that you got to go as a family to pick it out! We got ours at Costco, and you don't get to 'pick' it because they're all pretty much the same. We love it, but it would have been fun to go together and get to choose one. :)
I LOVE the smell of the real tree in our house!
    Good choice Jayden!!

  4. Quite a tree hunting you guys have done, but I usually go with the plastic trees because you can reuse them.

  5. Great tree can't wait to see it all decorated!
