Learning Resources Hide N Go Moo Review & Giveaway

I was provide the below mentioned product in exchange for my honest review
When Jayden was a baby one of the first things he learned was animals and the sounds they made.  He used to love imitating farm animals.  I remember going to family functions and his aunt would ask him what sounds does this animal make or that animal.  He knew them all and she was always so amazed.  I think kids just love animals so it is something they can easily attach to and learn.  Since I knew that Jayden loved animals I figure that Evan will likely love them too in the future.  So when I saw the new Hide N' Go Moo set from Learning Resources I just had to get it.

The Hide N' Go Moo is a fun sensory toy for children ages 2 to 4 years of age.  It is made up of a hard plastic barn with a vinyl top.  The vinyl top is a slit opening to reach inside the barn.  It includes 4 mommy (or daddy) and 4 baby animals.  There are cows, pigs, horses, and ducks.  The animals are made of a smooth hard plastic.  There is an obvious size difference so you can tell which is the adult animal and which is the baby.  The animals are perfect size to grasp in little hands.  This game can be used in many ways.  The animals can be sorted by size or by family.  By placing the animals in the barn  they can be pulled out to discover which you found.  Also, by reaching into the barn a child can search for a certain animal based on feel or guess which they have found based on feel.

I got out the Hide N' Go Moo and immediately both boys were right there to check it out.  Evan grabbed up some of the animals and held them tight.  I showed him where to put them in the barn.  He hovered them over and took a little to let go, he wasn't sure he wanted to drop it.  He was a little hesitant to reach his hand inside the vinyl flaps (but again he is only 6 months old).  Jayden was happy to reach inside and find the animals.  Jayden showed Evan the animals and made the animal sound to go with each one.  Evan thought it was so funny when Jayden made the animal sounds.

I really like the versatility of this toy.  It really is simple, but we have so many options on ways to play.  The barn and the animals are all well made and sturdy.  This toy will last for many years and because of the great quality of everything Learning Resources makes I am sure it will continue to look brand new just as long.  I am excited to continue to use this to teach Evan about animals.  The barn can also be used to put other things inside for sensory play.  I have not tried it yet, but I plan to also use the barn with Jayden for letters, shapes, and numbers.  I will probably use his magnet letters and hide them in the barn and have him guess which ones he grabs when he reaches in by touch.  While I was teaching I used to sing a fun ABC song with Old MacDonald.  Pretty much it was, "Old MacDonald had a farm e-i-e-i-e-i-o and on his farm he had an A, e-i-e-i-e-i-o, with an /a/ /a/ here and an /a/ /a/ there, here an /a/, there an /a/, everywhere an /a/ /a/, Old MacDonald had a farm e-i-e-i-e-i-o".  It is a fun way to teach letters and their sounds.  I think by adding the letters inside the barn and pulling them out one at a time we can sing the song with which ever letter we pull out.

Learning Resources has so many great products.  The Hide n' Go Moo is a new product for 2013.  This is a great learning toy and would make a great gift.
