Educational and Fun Learning Links from Learning Resources Review & Giveaway

I was provide the below mentioned product in exchange for my honest review.
I have another great product from Learning Resources to share with you today.  It is called Talk Links.  They are recordable sequencing tiles.  These help to build common core reading and language skills.  There is so much to learn with these talking tiles such as, phonological awareness, phonics and conventions-blend sounds to make words, build sentences and more.  These are recordable multi-sensory tiles that feature a durable write & wipe surface.  When these tiles are connected they will play back in sequence by pressing just 1 button.  Each tile can record up to 6 seconds.  The tiles are 4"L x 3"H.  The set includes batteries for each link.  The tiles are made from a durable foam with a thin write and wipe surface.  This is something we will keep away from Evan for sure since he likes to put everything in his mouth and would likely chew on these.

Jayden was so excited when he realized these record sounds and play back.  He loved just talking into them and listening to himself.  He though he was so funny.  I had to remind him it was for writing letters and words and then recording that.  So we started with writing a letter on each tile to spell out Jayden.  Then I had Jayden go back and record the name of each letter.  He thought it was pretty cool when it said all the letters in his name in sequence.

Then I decided to try writing words so Jayden helped me to write a sentence using mostly sight words.  Since he is going to Kindergarten next year I figure it would be good to expose him to sight words as often as I can.  So we wrote a sentence and then I had Jayden record each word and we played it back.

I really feel like these tile links can be great educational tools.  I have been having a harder time then expected getting Jayden to work on his writing.  These tiles make it fun for him.  Although he likes to record his voice and silly things I reminded him he needs to write a letter before he records on them.  So this encouraged him to practice writing the letters in his name.  Jayden mostly loved that he could record and hear himself.  He also liked that he could erase what he wrote and doing it again.  As we used it we realized that it works best to turn them all off and then turn them on as we go down to record each one.  Otherwise they will all start going off as you touch and move them.

Learning Resources has so many great fun and educational products.  The Talk Links are one of their 2013 new products.  These are great as the set of six or you could purchase multiple packages to make even more links.  This is great for home and/or school.
