Shelby's Snack Shack Game from Educational Insights Review & Giveaway

I was provide the below mentioned product in exchange for my honest review.
A counting bone-anza! Winner of a Parents' Choice Silver Award!

As many of you know as a teacher I like all things educational. And Educational Insights is a great website with lots of educational products. So when they told me about a new game that has come out and asked if I'd share it with all of you I said of course! I received Shelby's Snack Game and Jayden was excited. He loves games as some of you know. He immediately wanted to pull it out of the box and play. So he got daddy to play with him. I was able to occupy Evan so he would not mess with their game.

Shelby's Snack Shack game is preschool counting game. Shelby (the dog) has buried bones in the sand he she needs your help to find them all. If you help dig up the most bones you win. Players take turns using the cute Shelby Squeezers to fill their dog bowl with bones all while practicing early counting and number skills. It is pretty simple, but if you get a sneaky seagull then you will lose some bones or get side tracked chewing on a flip flop and lose your turn.

When I finally had the chance to play this game with Jayden he was very proud to show me how it works. He set up the game and told me the rules. I love the reinforcement of counting skills (or new skill for a younger player). Jayden was able to practice counting. Also, using the Shelby Squeezer he is working his fine motor skills that will help him with writing. The game is fun and easy to play. The materials are sturdy and well made. We had fun playing this game and will continue to play when we can. I think this game has jumped up the list of Jayden's favorite games. He has even taken it to his Nana's house to play with her.

And a little known secret is that this game was inspired by a real dog named Shelby. Shelby is a rescue dog and the office dog at Educational Insights. She even has her own facebook page. Working in Head Start we have a program called Gabriel's Angels. Gabriel's Angels is a pet therapy program where special dogs provide therapy just by visiting children. Gabriel's Angels serves 13,000 abused, neglected and at-risk children in Arizona with innovative pet therapy. Their goal is to increase the overall sense of well-being and happiness for children in a safe environment, and to build critical core behaviors, such as trust, empathy, respect, tolerance and self-esteem. We have a hand full of dogs that visit some of our Head Start classrooms on a regular basis. The dogs join the classroom for special projects, small groups, storytime, playtime and more. These dogs really touch the children and staff in a special way helping children to feel safe and loved.
