Dream Dinners Make Dinner Simple & Fun #DreamDinnersScottsdale

I was provided the below mentioned products in order to provide a review.

I have to admit that I am not a cook.  I really wish I was, but I just don't have what it takes.  And with working full time I just don't have the time to even follow a recipe and try to cook.  Ok that is not completely true I will try every so often, but I just can not maintain it daily.  I often resort to those frozen meals in a bag.  I know they are not the best, but at least its not fast food every night.  Recently I was invited to a fun blogger event at Dream Dinners Scottsdale.  I admit I really was not sure what it was, but I was interested.  After realizing that John was off the same night I could not turn it down.

Dream Dinners is kind of like a one stop shop for getting dinners prepared for a few nights.  Its very simple.  You sign up for a session time and choose the meals you'd like to prepare.  Then the great people at Dream Dinners do all the shopping, sets up the stations with the recipe boards and all the ingredients you need.  You go to the store at your scheduled time and assemble your meals in 3 or 6 serving portions.  It is a really fun experience.  You go to the station or area that has the meal you ordered and follow the simple recipe board to put all the ingredients together.  As you complete each meal you just place it in the large refrigerator and move on to prepare your next meal.   And in about an hour you will have 3 healthy and tasty meals ready to be heated up and prepared for your family.

Each month there are different meals to choose from.  Looking over the list I had a hard time picking.  When I got to the store I was given a zip lock bag with the heating instructions of the meals chose.  We were given a little tour and some information about the store.  Then we were sent on our way to get started.  I was excited to make some simple healthy meals for my family.

I decided to make the Firehouse Three Cheese Pasta with Meatballs.  My boys love pasta so this was something we had to try.  I made it mild since they don't like hot.  If it was just John and I then I would have opted for much hotter.  It was so easy to put together.  The instructions are posted on a small board and they even color code the measurements.  Like 2 blue might be 2 Cups.  But you don't have to measure, just put in the right number of scoops based on the color.  The instructions are fool proof with even reminding you to spray the pan.  It was so easy to mix everything together and the outcomes looked so delicious.  And let me tell you it was.  Everyone loved this meal.  After I was home a few days later I prepared this meal and it was so simple.  Just remove from the refrigerator, take off the top and heat in the oven for about 30-35 minutes.

The second item I prepared was the Santa Fe Shredded Pork Burritos.  We love Mexican food so I had to try this one.  Once again I got to the station and everything was right there and ready to go.  Oh and one thing that was really nice is if I had any questions or looked confused in any way there was a staff member right there to answer my question or offer help in any way.  I put together all the ingredients for the burritos and began rolling them together.  It looked so good!!  I could not wait to try this one.  I was happy to see that there was plenty to fill the burritos all the way and not skimpy at all.  When I was ready to make this meal it was just as simple as the first.  I took it out of the refrigerator, removed the lid and the sauce bag, poured the sauce on the burritos, and cooked in the oven.  These were really good, I think this was my favorite meal for sure.  Everything was perfect.  Jayden even liked his and Evan loved having tastes of mine.  He really liked the black beans and could not get enough of them.

The last meal I prepared was the Pecan Crusted Pork Chops with Garlic Mashed Potatoes.  This one was a little out of our norm, but I wanted to try something different.  I don't often make pork chops and I'm not really sure why.  I wanted to get some idea of how I could make them.  Plus I love Garlic Mashed Potatoes.  This meal had a few different steps as you had to marinate the pork chops in a bag, then set aside, prepare the breading in another bag, and then grab a few other items and put them all in a larger bag.  The Garlic Mashed Potatoes are already prepared and in a bag for you to just grab.  They call that a finishing touch.  I made this meal first at home.  I expected that Jayden might not be a big fan of this one.  But he did try it and he told me he liked the potatoes, but not the meat.  I thought the pork chops were really good and John was not a huge fan.  He liked it, but felt like the breading and pecans were a little too much.  I am happy we tried it.

Some of my favorite things about Dream Dinners it is simple, fun, and no clean up.  Yup that's right I didn't have to clean a thing.  As I finished with a bowl and spoon I just walk away and someone comes, takes the items to be washed and replaces it for the next person.  I even spilled a spice by accident and I had two people come over and clean it up.  One thing I don't like about cooking is you have to have all these spices and ingredients that you only use a small amount and never need again so they go bad.  At Dream Dinners they have all the ingredients for you and they are fresh since they do use them regularly. Plus all the meals are healthy.  You can find the calorie counts and they are low.

I had such a fun time preparing meals and I felt really accomplished when I have 3 meals ready to go for my week.  The meals are good for about a week in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer.  I opted to keep mine in the refrigerator since I knew I'd use them that week.  I have already talked to my mom and one of my best friends about going again.  This would be such a fun girls event.  I had fun talking with the other bloggers as we prepared our meals.  While we were talking another blogger had a great idea that I love.  It would be so fun to have a baby shower at Dream Dinners!!  They everyone can prepare 1 or 2 of the meals for the mom to be.  That way she walks out with a bunch of dinners all ready to go and all those attending get to take 1 or 2 for themselves too.  I have a friend that just told me she and her husband are gonna start trying for baby #2 and I told her I so want to do this.  She loved the idea.  There are Dream Dinners locations located around the US and 3 of them are in the Phoenix area, I attended at the Scottsdale location.

I have to say thank you to Dream Dinners Scottsdale for a fun night and 3 dinners for my family.  I can't wait to go back and do it again.  I also have to thank Sara at Mom Endeavors for inviting me.  Sara also has a giveaway on her blog for a  $200 Gift Certificate to Dream Dinners!!  Only a few days left so hurry to enter.  And if you don't have a Dream Dinners near you then you can enter and send that gift certificate my way.
