Halloween is Almost Here

This post was inspired by MrHalloween.com

I just can't believe that Halloween is this week and November is almost here.  Time seems to move so quickly.  I love dressing the boys up for Halloween.  This is going to be Evan's second Halloween.  Last year I was excited to have the boys dress in a theme.  I really thought they looks so cute as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.  I wanted to continue this year and do a theme among the boys and maybe even dress up along with the boys.  I always have these good intentions and ideas.  But unfortunately something happens and I don't quite get it figured out.

When I was a kid my mom used to make our costumes and they were so fun.  I loved that no one had the same costume as me each year.  I would love to make my own costumes for the boys and the family.  I was looking at my friend Sara's blog, Mom Endeavors and the cute parrot costume she made for her son and then she built a pirate theme around it.  She has been able to use the same costume with a few of her boys.  I would love to do something like this.

But since I have not had the time to really plan I will not be making the boys their costumes this year.  So I began looking at all the adorable kids costumes online.  There were so many cute ones to choose from.  I don't like the scary or gross costumes.  I want something cute and fun for the boys.  For Evan I found an adorable puppy costume.  He looks so cute wearing it.  Jayden was insistent on being Spiderman this year.  I didn't want to get him the costume because I was afraid he would not wear it once it came.  In previous years I have had to get costumes that didn't really seem like a costume.  He didn't like things on his face, make up or a mask.  But he was insisting he'd wear the Spiderman mask.  To my surprise he was excited when it came and even put it on.  He has asked to wear it a few times now.  But of course there is not a theme with the boys this year.  I guess I should have gotten Jayden's costume first.  I could have made Evan Superman or another superhero.  Oh well, I guess there is always next year.  For this year Superman and a cute little puppy will team up to collect all the yummy candy in our neighborhood.  I will post a photo of my boys when I get one of them together.

What are you children dressing up as this year for Halloween?  Do you do themes or make your own costumes?
