2013 Holiday Gift Guide: Peaceable Kingdom Plus Giveaway

I was provided the below mentioned products in order to participate in the holiday gift guide

Games are always a great gift for kids.  I know Jayden loves games and has more then he needs, but enjoys getting them.  He is forever asking us to play games with him.  Peaceable Kingdom has a variety of games, but they all are cooperative games.  That means everyone works together to play.  Unlike many traditional games cooperative games do not have a winner and losers.  These games encourage children to work together and have fun playing.  Its not about winning.  They have a variety of card games, board games, and more.  Many of these games make great gifts and stocking stuffers.  I was sent 3 games as part of the Holiday Gift Guide.

The first game I received is Stone Soup.  Stone Soup is based on the classic tale of cooperation.  In this game the players work together to "cook" a soup by making matches of the ingredients.  If you match all the ingredients before the fire goes out and everyone wins.  This game encourages team work.  If players work together then they will be able to accomplish their task.  I am looking forward to playing this fun game with Jayden.  I just know he will love it.  I want to first read him the story of Stone Soup so he understands what its all about.  Then we will work together to make some tasty "Stone Soup" before the fire burns out.

Next I received the card game Alphabet Go Fish!  This game is just like the classic Go Fish game, but uses the alphabet.  It helps to teach letter recognition, uppercase and lowercase letters, reading, and taking turns.  Although this game ends when someone is out of cards, there is still not a winner/loser game.  It is simply about the task of identifying the Alphabet cards and matching them.  I expect this may be Jayden's favorite out of these games.  We really have not played Go Fish much, but I am sure we will now.  These cards can be given as a wrapped gift or used as a stocking stuffer.

The third item I received is the Numbers Match Up Game.  There are a couple of ways you can use these cards.  You can lay them all out on the table for face up Match up.  Then someone calls out which cards to look for, such as find all the 5's.  Everyone digs in and finds all the cards with 5 on it.  For a little more challenge the caller can ask for everyone to find the number that comes after the 5.  Another way to play is to place all the cards face down on the table.  Then have each player take turns trying to match the cards laying face down.  With this game your child is working on visual memory, taking turns, and counting.  These are perfect stocking stuffers.

Peaceable Kingdom has a fun mix of board games, card games, and more.  All these games promote teamwork and cooperation. Many of the Peaceable Kingdom games are award winners.
