Learning Resources New Sprouts Bake It!

I was provided the below mentioned products in exchange for a review.

My boys love to play pretend.  Jayden has a play kitchen that he received for Christmas a few years ago.  He loves to pretend to cook for us and bring us food.  Evan enjoys getting in on the fun too.  The fun is even better with some great pretend food.  Recently Learning Resources came out with the New Sprouts Bake It! set and we were sent one to review.

The New Sprouts Bake It! set is great for children ages 2 and up.  The set has 15 pieces, including a baking sheet, 2X2 (cups) muffin pan, spoon, spatula, rolling pin, bowl with spout and gripping handle, measuring cup, 4 cupcakes, and 4 chocolate chip cookies.  It has everything you need to (pretend) bake up a tasty treat.  This set is colorful and fun.  It encourages role playing with just a little imagination.  The set features bakeware with rounded parts and easy-grip handles.  The cupcakes and cookies are soft-molded.  The cookies have chocolate chip chunks sticking out for a realistic look.  Children can pretend to whip up a great recipe with the bowl and spoon, then roll it out with the rolling pin, and bake up the treats.  This set has lots to offer educationally.  Children can practice fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, communication skills, imaginative play, role playing, and more.  This set also easily coordinates with the other New Sprouts play food collections.

When I opened the package both boys could not wait to get started baking.  Jayden really didn't want to share the items with Evan, but I insisted he let Evan play too.  They pretended to stir up the batter and then bake the cupcakes and cookies.  I love that the cupcakes are small enough that the whole pan fits in Jayden's play oven.  Jayden loves using the spatula to flip the cookies and pass them out.  He likes to act like the concession people at events and yell out, "Who wants Cookies?  Cupcakes?  Yummy Cupcakes and Cookies here!"  And then he passes them around to me.  Evan has tried stirring the "mixture" and mostly likes to pretend to eat the food.  Everything is well made and durable.  I really like that these products are so well made.  I don't think the boys could break this stuff if they tried.  The quality really is above what I expected.  It makes me want to get more of these great sets.

  1. How do you get the products to test? I'd love to be able to do that!
