{Never} Wordless Wednesday ~ Field Day

Last week Jayden's school had an athletic field day.  The whole school participated in this fun event.  I was lucky enough to get the day off of work to volunteer.  Each of the teams were made up of children from all different grades.  So the teams were fair with Kindergarten to 4th grade (that is as high as this school goes).  Each team had a coach and an assistant coach.  I was able to be the assistant coach with Jayden's team.  We started out with the head master giving the directions and the rules.  The most important rule was to follow the virtues and have a good time.  Each team was named after a different virtue (something the school teaches a lot of and I love by the way).  Jayden's team was Team Patience.  There were 7 different games to participate in.  I only got a few pictures since I was moving around so much.  I really think a few of the games were designed more to get me moving then the kids.

In this game they had to run with the football, touch the cone on the other side and run back.

In this game they had to walk as fast as they could around the cone at the other end and back all while balancing a rubber circle on your head.  Jayden did really well at this game, he went down and back a few times without ever dropping it.  But the game I think he did best at was the Frisbee toss into the trash cans.  He made one in and had a couple close.  No one else got them in.

After everyone completed the morning games we all gathered together for some fun tug o' war.  First teams worked together at tug o' war, then grade levels went against each other, and last the 4th graders went up against the teachers.  The field day took place on Jayden's weekly short day in the week so after the games we had lunch, playground, and a short assembly.  Then we were able to go home.  I told Jayden he could pick anywhere he wanted to go before we picked up Evan.  I wanted to spend some mommy son time with him.  I offered ice cream at the park, but nope.  He wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese to play games.  Just games, no food.

So of course we had to get our sketch done!  I love these things.
