Dermasolve Scalp Itch Shampoo Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
After I had Jayden I stared to notice that my scalp itched some and I even got some flakes.  I figured it was from the hormone changes.  It continued as he got a little older and got worse after I stopped breastfeeding him.  I again figured it was due to the hormone change and possibly the fact that we moved to a home with really hard water.  I finally gave in and saw a dermatologist.  He said I had Psoriasis of the scalp and that it is hereditary.  So he gave me some pills to take and some special ointment to put on at night and some other stuff for during the day.  It did clear up and get better.  I continued to have some itch and flakes, but not to the extent it was.  Then I had Evan and it started again.  It is really annoying and embarrassing when my scalp gets really itchy and flaky.  I have tried some different over the counter shampoos and some help a little.  I don't want to go back to the dermatologist because I am still nursing and can't use the products he will give me.  When I saw the opportunity to try the Dermasolve shampoo I thought it was worth a try for sure.

Dermasolve Scalp Itch Shampoo is doctor recommended to help with the itch from dry scalp, dandruff and Psoriasis.  The ingredients in Dermasolve Shampoo help to stop the itch and control dandruff and crusty scalp buildup.  It gives immediate and continuous relief from the itch.  It is non-greasy and has a peppermint fragrance.  It is safe for color treated air.  It contains 3% Salicylic Acid and egg protein.

I was excited to try this out and see if it would help me.  One of the first things I noticed on the bottle is that it says do not use if you are nursing.  This scared me a little because I am nursing and none of the other shampoos I have used have this warning.  I contacted the company to ask for clarification on the do not use while nursing.  I was told that it is a precaution because with the Salicyic Acid in the shampoo I just need to be careful to fully clean myself, especially the breast area after using the shampoo so there is no residue left that may get in baby's mouth.  That is no problem as I am always cautious with being clean in that area due to nursing.  So I am being cautious to be sure that all residue is gone.

When using the shampoo I did fell the minty tingle.  I felt like the shampoo did help with limiting the itch and the flakes.  The bottle says to use at least twice a week, but I felt like I needed to use it at least 3 or more times a week to feel like it helped.  So I did an every other day routine.  I felt like I had to use quite a bit to be able to spread it around.  It says it includes conditioner, but I needed additional conditioner after using the shampoo.  Otherwise my hair was not soft.  Overall I do like this shampoo and I feel like it does help with itch and flakes.
