Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY in Theaters Now

I was provided tickets to the screening free of charge in exchange for this post.

As a Head Start teacher previously I often read the book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY to my students.  I love this book.  So when I heard they are making a movie about the book of course I wanted to see it.  I was fortunate to be able to watch the screening with Jayden last weekend.  We went for a fun mommy son movie date.

Disney's "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" follows the day of an 11 year old boy named Alexander.  He has the most terrible and horrible day of his life.  It starts with waking up with gum in his hair and follows with one bad event after another.  He tries to tell his very upbeat and optimistic family about the misadventures of his disastrous day he gets little sympathy.  He begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him.  Soon he learns that he is not alone when his mom, dad, brother, and sister all experience their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone that says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn't had one.

Jayden and I found this movie very funny.  The mishaps that the family members experience are funny.  So many of them are things that I could see actually happening too.  The movie really doesn't have a dull moment.  I really like that it is family friendly and I didn't have to worry about Jayden seeing or hearing anything inappropriate for his age.  There are lots of funny parts that adults will enjoy too.

This movie stars Steve Carell as the dad, Jennifer Garner as the mom, Ed Oxenbould as Alexander, Dylan Minnette as the brother, and Kerris Dorsey as the sister.

Currently there is a #VeryBadDaySweeps going on.  All you have to do is share your Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad throwback family photo for a chance to win something very good.

Post your photo using #VeryBadDaySweeps on Twitter or Instagram for a chance to win an Adventures by Disney trip for four to Disney Aulani, resort & spa!
