2014 Holiday Gift Guide: Luma Comfort HC12W Cool Mist Humidifier Review #HGG

I was provided the below mentioned product for review purposes

Living in Arizona everything is dry.  Yes we have a dry heat and we have a dry winter.  So with the weather here we end up with lots of dry conditions like dry skin and dry chapped lips.  Also along with our allergies we get a dry cough, at least Jayden and I do.  So that is why I often like to have a humidifier available for those extra dry nights or when the weather decides to make some big changes and mess with the allergies.  The one we had was a small one that had to be refilled daily.  When I was given the opportunity to add the Luma Comfort HC12W Cool Mist Humidifier to the holiday gift guide this year I was of course excited.

The Luma Comfort ultrasonic cool mist humidifier has a modern vase design.  It seamlessly blends into just about any home decor.  It produces 2.5 gallons of mist daily and effectively cover rooms up to 650 square feet.  The tank will last up to 45 hours at a time.  The Ultrasonic technology is energy efficient which is great for anyone wanting to limit their energy use.  It also produces very little sounds.  It has a remote making it easy to use from a distance.  It has 8 different mist settings with a musical alert when changing between settings. It has LED display lights.  The humidifier has a demineralization cartridge that helps to prevent scale build up.  It comes with different attachments to make it usable from the floor or on a table.  The attachments fit together seamlessly and you can't really tell where they fit together.  The tank is really easy to fill by turning it upside down in the kitchen sink.  It is light weight and easy to move from room to room as needed.

I set it up in Jayden's room as he often needs cool moisture to help soothe his night coughs.  I set it up next to his bed.  Since it has a nice tall shaft it can reach him in his tall bed.  I really like that I can keep it on the floor and don't have to use a chair or something.  I also like that I can control the amount of mist that is released.  The humidifier is really quiet.  Jayden is a pretty deep sleeper, but that doesn't mean we want something loud in his room all night long.  You can tell from the video posted below how silent it is.  It is also really easy to fill and set up.  I really like that it lasts so long and I don't have to refill it every night.  If I only run it at night it can last a few nights.  We have hard water so the demineralization cartridge is great.

The Luma Comfort HC12W Cool Mist Humidifier is usable all year long.  I am so happy to have this in our home.  And it makes a great gift for anyone on your holiday list.

  6. I live in Miami, so there's plenty of natural humidity. LOL! But when I travel to the SouthWest or West, I am always miserable because it's so dry! I just bought a portable humidifier for an upcoming trip to New Mexico but you've given me a great idea - I can buy one of these and send it ahead of us to my in-laws!

  16. Now that is a humidifier anyone could love. We have an old farm house and it has hot water forced air. Its so dry and its either on or off. Which means it can get quite warm and dry in here. I could really use one of these.
