Learning Resources: Bright Bites Burger Shapes Plus Giveaway

I was provided the below mentioned products in order to provide a review.

I am so excited to bring you some more of the great products from Learning Resources this year.  They lots of great new products once again this year.  They always have fun and educational toys.  The first one I will be sharing with you this year is the Bright Bites Burger Shapes.

The Bright Bites Burger Shapes let you build your own burger full of shapes.  Each of the layers that you add to the burger is a different shape.  This is a great way to work on shape recognition.  The set includes 1 Bun (2 halves, circles), 1 hamburger patty (circle), 1 ketchup (heart), 1 mustard (star), 1 cheese slice (square), 1 lettuce (triangle), 1 pickle (clover), 1 onion (hexagon), and a plate.  These are designed for toddlers and up.  Children can work on stacking the items to work on balancing and spatial relations.  Some other fun activities can be to identify the shape and have your child find that shape as they stack them or have them name the shape as they add to the stack.  The set can also be used to work on copying a pattern or plan.  Draw out what shapes go next and your child can follow the "directions".  Or it can be used just for making burgers and play food.

My boys were both very excited about this set.  Yes my toddler loved it, but so did my 6 year old.  They used it to be stacked and make a burger and then tried to sell it to me for $5.  Yes all their food costs $5 in our house.  Jayden was asking Evan to hand him items based on the shape.  So he would say, "I need a star" or "I need the triangle".  They were so cute playing together and although Jayden knew all the shapes he was teaching his little brother.  Evan knows some shapes, but this helps to gain new shapes and to reinforce the ones he didn't know.  I am thinking about making some fun templates for him to follow the directions or putting the burger together.  Something like Circle, Star, Triangle, Circle, Heart, Square, Circle.  And then there's the burger and he is learning the shapes, following a pattern/directions.  This is a really fun item that has lots of learning value in it.

Learning Resources has come up with more great items this year.  The Bright Bites Burger Shapes has so many ways to learn and have fun.  This would make a great addition to a home collection or a classroom collection of fun toys.  This would even make a great Easter Basket item.
