Learning Resources All Ready for First Grade And High Seas ADDventure Addition Game Review Plus Giveaway

By now you must know that I love Learning Resources.  Their products are educational and fun!  Both things I look for in products for my boys.  I want to see my boys continue learning while they play and have a good time.  Usually I find that the boys don't even realize that they are learning and growing their little brains as they play.  I recently received a couple of new products from Learning Resources, the All Ready for First Grade Readiness Kit and the High Seas ADDventure Addition Game.

The All Ready for First Grade Readiness Kit is a specially designed kit that targets the skills essential for first grade.  There are a variety of games and activities that includes addition, subtraction, 2-D shapes, word building, and writing & journaling.  The set features a popular "Under the Sea" classroom theme.  There are a variety of colorful manipulatives and hands-on tools.  There are more than 60 activities included.  There are 20 ocean counters, 10 double sided word problem cards, 6 word family cubes, write & wipe clock, 20 double-sided story starter cards, 36 page writing journal, 6 measuring fish, 32 page guide, and a 24 page write & wipe activity book.  There are many ways to use all the material.  Jayden loves the write & wipe activity book.  I like that it requires him to think and write.  Pretty much all the activities in the kit Jayden has learned in his first grade class.  Although this kit is about readiness for first grade, it has been great for continued learning.  It always helps to reinforce the skills learned.

I also received the High Seas ADDventure Addition Game.  The game includes a single game board, 4 under the sea game markers, and 56 cards.  Using the cards game players move when they are able to add their number cards to 10.  Be the first to reach the treasure and you win.  The game is simple and fun.  In the cards there are some making 10 helper cards.  I set the helper cards aside and let Jayden figure out the 10's on his own.  He loved figuring them out for himself and for me.  The game can also be bumped up to make using 3 cards to make 10.  I like that the game can be upped for a higher level of learning.  The game can be played by 2-4 players.

I am really liking this kit and game.  Jayden feels very confident while using the kit since he already knows how to solve the problems.  The activities help to reinforce so much and make the learning stick.  Learning Resources also has additional kits for Let's Get Ready for Preschool and Let's Get Ready for Kindergarten.  Plus there are games to compliment them both, All Around the Playground Game (colors, shapes, and counting) and Picnic Party An Early Learning Game.

I had commented that I like so many of their products, but if I have to pick one, I would have to say the Mental Blox Game caught my eye.
