Kids love to play with anything electronic. I know I prefer ones that are educational or at least have some value to them. Recently we tried 5 different Android Music Apps.
Magic Belles: Magic Music ~ Magic Belles are musical fairies who look after life's special wonders, from colorful rainbows to beautiful flowers. Each Belle has her own jingle and when they all come together they make a magical, musical symphony. You can choose from 7 games. My youngest likes tapping on the flowers and butterflies to watch them fly. We also enjoyed tapping on the numbers in order to make a musical sound. This app is fun and best for kids ages 3-6.
Carnival of Animals ~ This interactive app is set up like a story book and lets children read while exploring music and learning about animals in an engaging way. Children can develop basic musicality by following the rhythm, as the app emphasizes strong beats with different levels of force. You simply follow the beat and tap on images, find different musical phrases which teach kids about duration, pitch, volume, and timbre. This app is designed for children ages 2-6.
Kids Song Machine ~ This app helps kids develop musical skills with upbeat, familiar nursery rhymes and interactive animations. It stimulates a child's auditory perception to motivate them to enjoy the rhythms and sounds used while singing and dancing, talking, or clapping. Toddlers can tap on the pictures as they move across the screen to add more sound effects. It’s colorful and really pulls in the attention of little ones - my son really likes this app!
Nursery Rhymes for Kids ~ This app features multiple nursery rhymes that are paired with animated videos and cute cartoon characters. The lyrics to the songs are displayed along with the music so kids can easily sing along. The songs are familiar and fun, and I really like how the lyrics are displayed and that the video plays along with the music. This app is meant for children ages 2-6.
