Bears for Humanity Plus a Giveaway

A teddy bear can be a powerful thing.  They can help a child feel comfortable.  They can help show love.  They can do so many things.  And now they can change the world.  Yes when you purchase a bear from Bears For Humanity you are helping to change the world just one teddy bear at a time.

Bears For Humanity are made from 100% Certified Organic hemp and cotton.  They are made in the USA, giving jobs to those that need one through CalWORKs in Northern Califorina.  These bears come in 16" or 7" size.  They also have a variety of 5 colors.  The 16" bears have rotatable arms and legs.  They can easily be posed for sitting, standing and hugging.  They are soft and huggable.  The bears are very well made.  They are heavier then other bears their size since they are made with such great materials.  The 7" bears are non-jointed.

Choose from five colorful characters:
Sammie—iconic beige
Sassie—pink
Snowie—white
Snugglie—chocolate brown
Sweetie—blue
The company also makes non-jointed 7” baby bears and assortment of accessories for the Premium Bears.

The best thing about these bears is that when you purchase a bear the company will donate the same exact bear to a charity they partner with to deliver to a needy veteran's house, a children's hospital or an underprivileged household.  Its a great way to give back.  And you can even choose which charity partner you'd like the matching bear to go to.

The charity partners they work with are:

·         Toys for Tots
·         Expect Miracles Foundation
·         Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital
·         One Simple Wish
·         Save the Children
·         Semper Fi

I love this program.  Last year I was the community service mom for Jayden's first grade classroom.  I had to assist in setting up a service project for the class to participate in and give back.  Talking with his teacher we decided to do a teddy bear drive to donate to our local fire station.  The kids loved the project.  They made posters and began collecting teddy bears and other stuffed animals.  When it was time we invited the firefighters from the fire station next door to the school to take the bags and share with children in need.  It was something the first graders could understand and enjoy.  I wish now that I knew about this company.  It would have been great to get a few of these bears to donate to our drive and know there was a matching bear going to help children somewhere else too.

I was excited to receive 2 of the 16" Premium Bears.  I got Sassie the pink for baby girl and Snugglie the chocolate brown for Evan.  Evan was super excited to get this bear.  He loves to cuddle teddy bears.  He immediately without me saying anything said the pink was for baby girl. He immediately claimed Snugglie for himself and gave some hugs.  He decided that he needed to hug Sassie too until baby girl is born.

Be sure to check out this short powerful video of the two founders and their kids as they talk about what they’re doing, they’re mission and their bears. Do you have someone in your life that would love one of these great bears?  The great people at Bears for Humanity have offered to give one away to a reader and when you pick your bear they will send the same bear to a charity of choice too!

  2. I wasn't familiar with the Bears for Humanity program so thanks so much for sharing, sounds like a great place to get Xmas gifts knowing that they give back to so many worthy causes. I like supporting brands that give back, and yes, it sounds very much like a Teddy Bear can indeed save the world - one hug at a time! :-)

  13. What is not to love about Bears For Humanity?

Talk about giving back, get one-give one, hiring folk on CalWorks to give them jobs so they can develop job skills and a sense of pride, made from organic materials all made right here in the USA! Supporting a company like this does not get much better than this!
