On December 2nd I became a mom for the third time. My sweet baby girl came into our world. The past 10 days or so have been filled such happiness and craziness all at once. As I get back into the swing of life with a newborn I needed to plan out a survival guide. There are some important things a new or new again mom needs to help them survive.
Survival tip #1: Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers. I picked up a large size box at Sam's Club recently. Huggies Little Snugglers are breathable and soft. They have a wetness indicator making it easier to indicate a wet diaper. The newborn sized are shaped to fit new babies and even have an umbilical cord cut out to protect baby's belly button as it heals. Survival tip #2: Get as much sleep as you can. I know everyone says to sleep when baby sleeps. And I know that is much easier said then done. New mom's get little sleep. Newborns sleep so much of their day and new moms need to take advantage of it and sleep too.
Survival tip #3: Keep lots of healthy snacks in the house. While breastfeeding I find myself really hungry all the time. I want to snack often. But it is important to have healthy snacks in the house for yourself and baby. Survival tip #5: Enjoy every moment you can with your baby. This time really does go so quickly. Try to really sit back and be in the moment with your newborn. Enjoy this time as it won't come back to you. There are moments throughout motherhood that you don't want to miss. There are so many milestones that happen so quickly and you want to enjoy it all.
